HANDMADE JEWELLERY CARE
All your jewellery is handmade using brass, sterling silver (925), gold plating (2 micron coating) and real gemstone beads and cabochons.
Please allow for natural variations in size, colour and texture, no two pieces will ever be alike.
Your brass & sterling silver jewellery will naturally become dull upon exposure to skin oils & air (a process called oxidation). There is so much beauty in the way your pieces will transform. For all brass and sterling silver jewellery, we provide you with a small polishing cloth to keep your jewels shiny. 
Below we have outlined the best way to take care of your Karakal jewellery so that you get the longest wear out of your sacred pieces.
  

GOLD PLATED JEWELLERY
Your gold jewellery is plated with a 2 micron coating, so the best way to look after your jewellery will be to avoid anything that will remove the layer.

1. Keep It Dry: Water and sweat can harm your gold plated jewellery , so remember to take it off before swimming, showering, or working out.
2. Store with Care: Keep your pieces in a dry spot, like a fabric-lined box or a jewellery pouch. Make sure they don’t touch each other to avoid scratches.
3. Do not use any form of abrasive cleaners! 
4. Avoid Chemicals: Perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products can damage the plating, so try to keep your jewellery away from them.

STERLING SILVER JEWELLERY CARE
1. Prevent Tarnish: Store your sterling silver in a cool, dry place. 
2. Clean Regularly: We provide you with a silver polishing cloth for a quick clean of your jewellery.
3. Keep It Dry: Chemicals can speed up tarnishing.
4. Store Separately: Keep your silver pieces separate from other jewellery to avoid scratches. Individual pouches or compartments work best.

BRASS JEWELLERY CARE
1. Avoid Moisture: Keep your brass jewelry dry by taking it off before swimming, showering, or exercising.
2. Store Properly: Store your brass pieces in a cool, dry place, like a fabric-lined box or a jewelry pouch. Keep them separate to avoid scratching and tarnishing.
3. Clean Regularly: We provide you with a polishing cloth for a quick shine of your jewellery. For a deeper clean, use a mix of lemon juice and baking soda or a commercial brass cleaner. Rinse well and dry thoroughly.
4. Skip the Chemicals: Perfumes, lotions, and household cleaners can discolor and damage brass.
5. Skin discolouration: Brass contains a small amount of copper which reacts with the moisture on your skin and may produce a slight greenish tint. This is totally harmless and can easily be washed away. 
  
SHIPPING
Local Shipping (South Africa)
Your jewellery is lovingly handcrafted by a team of one person, so please allow a maximum of 10 - 15 days lead time for manufacturing. 
Shipping costs include R90 delivery through uAfrica which utilises either Dawn Wing, The Courier Guy or Courier It.
Your order will be delivered to your door and will take roughly 1 - 3 working days and will not be insured. Once the order has been shipped, uAfrica will provide you with a tracking number. 
If you need your order urgently, there is an Overnight Courier option at a cost of R200.
Please provide an address where someone is available to collect during daytime hours.
 Karakal is not responsible for any damages incurred during transport, or late or early arrival.
International Shipping
International shipping is available at R600 / 30 Euros through Aramex. Once the order has been shipped you will receive a tracking number. Your order should arrive within 1 - 2 weeks. 
 Karakal is not liable for any costs incurred at international customs. 
Payment for international orders can be made using PayPal with the email address shaylatricam@gmailcom.
   
RETURNS
Before ordering rings, please make double and triple sure you are choosing the correct ring size. Since we are all human, sometimes things do go wrong. You may return your jewellery for store credit within 14 / FOURTEEN days of receiving if there is something that isn't to your liking. The customer will be responsible for their own shipping costs. Please return with the original packaging and unfortunately shipping costs will be liable to you. 
No returns on custom designs, sale items and earrings (due to hygiene).
