In Tantra, the snake embodies both the divine feminine energy, Shakti, and the masculine consciousness, Shiva. The snake is seen as a representation of Shakti's power, vitality, and dynamic energy, while also symbolizing Shiva's wisdom, stillness, and transcendent consciousness. The delicate intertwining of the serpent encompasses the union and harmonization of these polarities within an individual's consciousness.  
The snake then represents an embodiment of masculine and feminine energies, light and dark, and the merging of dualities present in the universe. This balance reflects the aim of Tantra; to transcend dualistic thinking and experience innate oneness.
